Jun 10, 2013

The Minnesota Magicians have hired Jimmy Lilledahl as the club’s new play by play voice and Director of Media Relations. Jimmy had the same position with the Austin Bruins in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for the past three seasons. Lilledahl, 25, is considered to be one of the most seasoned play by play voices in the upper Midwest, broadcasting more than 450 sporting events since 2009. With Austin, Jimmy’s voice was heard on AM 1480 KAUS and Fast Hockey.com. Jimmy has a degree in the Applied Science of Radio Broadcasting from Brown College. Lilledahl’s calls have been on featured on the television show Sports Nation, ESPN and ESPN 2.

Prior to working with the Austin Bruins, Lilledahl worked as a freelance broadcaster with the Albert Lea Thunder (NAHL), the Edina Lakers (MNJHL), and the Wisconsin Wilderness (SIJHL). Jimmy, also, works with Prep 45 in the Twin Cities broadcasting hockey games in the Minnesota State High School League.

As Director of Broadcasting, Lilledahl will broadcast all 60 home and away games, and all playoff contests. To hear Jimmy’s voice this season, you can log onto Fast Hockey.com. The Magicians will be announcing their radio affiliate in coming weeks. Jimmy will also manage and oversee the production of news stories and press releases. He will be in contact with local media outlets on a daily basis.

“I am extremely excited. It has been over a decade since a legitimate level of Junior Hockey has been a part of the Twin Cities. Being involved in another expansion franchise is a dream come true. I can’t wait until the first puck is dropped in September” expressed Lilledahl

The Magicians received numerous applications and interviewed many candidates for the job, but Lilledahl was the perfect fit."The Minnesota Magicians are very excited to bring Jimmy Lilledahl into our organization as our play-by-play announcer and Director of Media Relations," said Co-Owner Joe Pankratz.  "Jimmy has a special skill in his ability to call games and beat out a number of other qualified applicants for this position.  We look forward to having Jimmy provide memorable calls in our inaugural season."

The Minnesota Magicians (members of the NAHL) will embark on their Inaugural Season in 2013-2014. For more information on the Magicians and to purchase ticket packages visit www.magicanshockey.com
