Sep 22, 2015

The Minnesota Magicians are excited to announce that former Magician standout Denis Shevyrin has signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), which is the highest level of professional hockey in Germany, Shevyrin’s native country. Shevyrin has already appeared in two games for the Roosters as a defenseman.

Denis spent his last two seasons in Minnesota, playing in more games as a member of the Magicians than any other player in franchise history. In over 100 games, he totaled 27 points and 141 penalty minutes. Denis brings an extensive International background to Iserlohn, representing Germany in the World Junior Classic in 2012 and 2013. He joins a host of former Magicians who have made the jump to professional hockey, including Cody Milligan, Eetu Karvinen, Lukas Laub, and Dennis Andersson.

Speaking about Shevyrin, Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said “We are very happy for Denis and wish him the best of luck in his opportunity to play pro hockey. Here with the Magicians we focus on moving players on to the next level, most times that is college hockey and sometimes like in a case like this that is professional hockey. Denis was a big part of establishing our organization and we are proud to say he is a Magician.”
