Magicians defenseman and Prior Lake, Minnesota native Matt Denman was named NAHL Midwest Division Player of the Week after a great performance at the 2016 NAHL Showcase. Denman played in 4 games at the Showcase, registering 3 assists and a +1 rating on the ice as he helped the Magicians to a 2-0-2 record at the event. Following his high school career at Prior Lake of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), Denman first appeared with the Magicians at the end of the 2015-2016 season. After gaining valuable experience last year, he was expected to provide a veteran presence in a young defensive corps heading into the new year. Thus far, he has met and exceeded expectations with 1 goals and 3 assists in 6 games played.
