Dysen Skinner named Midwest Division NAHL Player of The Week

Mar 5, 2020

Magicians goaltender, Dysen Skinner was recently named the NAHL Midwest Division’s player of the week!  Skinner started in all three games for the Magi this past weekend, securing three victories and posting an impressive 1.67 GAA and .948 SVS% while adding one shutout.

Dysen joined the Magicians in mid December of this season from the North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL and has since shown a hunger to stay between the pipes, going 12-6-0-2 in his starts with a 2.85 GAA and .914 SVS%.  Skinner proves well for the NAHL development model, playing in both the NAPHL and NA3HL before advancing to the North American League this season.

With only 9 games remaining in the regular season, Skinner will look to continue his great play in hopes of helping the Magi move into a playoff spot in the tight Midwest Division playoff race.  The Magi currently sit at fifth in the Midwest with 49 points, trailing behind the Janesville Jets (47pts), Kenai River Brown Bears (56 pts), Chippewa Steel (59 pts) and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs (77pts).  Although the Magicians have two more points than the Jets, they have played two more games and have three less wins, moving them behind Janesville for the time being.

Skinner and the Magicians will look to continue their recent success this weekend as they host a two game home stand vs. the Springfield Junior Blues!
