Gaven Bickford accepts position with Madison in USHL

The Minnesota Magicians, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce that Assistant Coach and General Manager Gaven Bickford has accepted the position as Assistant Coach and Director of Scouting the Madison Capitals of the United States Hockey League (USHL)

“The Magicians have always been an organization that has moved players onto the USHL and NCAA and it is exciting that we are now able to announce that our Assistant Coach and GM is getting the same opportunity to pursue his dream.” Said owner Joe Pankratz.  “Gaven has been with us for 4 years and has helped develop a countless number of players.  Gaven’s continued drive and work ethic has paved the way for this opportunity with Madison.  What Gaven and the rest of our staff were able to accomplish this season speaks a lot about his ability to recognize and develop talent and we are excited to follow his success in the USHL and beyond.”

In talking about his time with the Magician’s Gaven had to say, “I want to thank the Minnesota Magician’s organization for all that they are done for me and wish them nothing but the best in the future.”  In talking about his new role with Madison Gaven added, “I am very excited to join the Madison Capitols organization.  I want to thank Tom and Corey for laying the foundation for an incredible opportunity.  I am looking forward to getting started in Madison.”

Gaven capped his final season with the Magician’s with the Midwest Division Playoff Championship and a trip to the Robertson Cup.  The team finished the season with a 24-21-3 record and had 16 NCAA commitments.  It was an incredible season for Magician fans and the organization is looking forward to continued success.

The Minnesota Magicians have already started an extensive search to fill Gaven’s role with the team and fans can expect an announcement in the coming days.
