May 5, 2014

Minnesota Magicians forward Will Johnson has been selected by the Madison Capitals in the United States Hockey League (USHL) draft.  He was selected in the 6th round, 96th overall.  This past season, Johnson had a phenomenal rookie campaign for the Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), scoring 19 goals and adding 16 assists. The Santa Barbara, California native also earned a position on the U18 Selects roster at the 2014 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Troy, Michigan.  Johnson is also committed to play Division-I collegiate hockey at Air Force Academy in 2015-2016. “It’s no surprise that Will was selected in the USHL draft. The NAHL is all about moving kids on to the next level, and we wish him the best in the USHL and beyond” added Team President and General Manager Scott Meyer. The Minnesota Magicians (Members of the NAHL) play their home games out of Richfield Ice Arena. For more information on the Magicians, visit www.wisconsinjuniorhockey.com
