The Minnesota Magicians have acquired forward Will Hammer in a trade with the Aberdeen Wings. Hammer is a veteran of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with over 100 games played over the past two seasons in Aberdeen.

A St. Cloud, Minnesota native, Hammer played four years of varsity hockey at St. Cloud Cathedral of the Minnesota State High School. Throughout a prolific prep career, he scored 77 goals and added 94 assists for a total of 171 regular season points. Post high school, Hammer headed west to Aberdeen where he played in 52 games during the 2014-15 season and picked up 2 goals to go along with 13 assists. Last season, he played in 57 games and increased his scoring totals to 7 goals and 11 assists. He will provide a veteran presence this season in a young Minnesota Magicians locker room.

Speaking about what Hammer will bring to the team this year, Magicians Head Coach and General Manager Scott Meyer said, “We are excited to bring in a veteran player like Will for this year. He is a big, strong forward that we expect to conribute offensively and play a big role on our team.”
