The Minnesota Magicians are excited to announce the recent roster additions of forward Nikita Milekhin (Left) and defenseman Travis Brown (Right)

Nikita Milekhin hails from Krasnogorsk, Russia. He began the current season playing Major Junior hockey in Canada with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League (WHL). After being drafted 3rd overall in the 2014 WHL Import Draft, he logged 16 games with Lethbridge putting up a total of 4 points on 1 goal and 3 assists.  Prior to joining Lethbridge, Milekhin played junior hockey in Russia, and was even drafted in the 2014 Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) draft by the Severstal Cherepovets (4th Rd., 158th Overall). Speaking about the addition of Milekhin to the Magicians roster,  Head Coach Tom Upton said, “We are very excited to bring in Nikita for the remainder of our season. He comes from a very good league in the WHL. His skill and the way he competes on pucks will help our team immediately.” He will be expected to contribute offensively as a member of the Magicians corps of forwards.

Otsego, Minnesota native Travis Brown played his high school hockey with the Rogers Royals of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). He then spent the first half of the current season with the Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).  After being acquired via trade last week, Brown played his first two games with the Magicians over the weekend, both of which were losses to the Minnesota Wilderness. Speaking about Brown, Coach Upton said, “Travis Brown is a great product of the high level of high school hockey in the state of Minnesota. He brings size and the ability to move the puck to our blueline. Fans will be excited to watch a local boy playing for our team and we are excited to have him with us.”  In 27 NAHL games this year, he has 3 points and a +1 overall rating.  He is currently committed to play collegiate hockey at Michigan Tech University, and his addition will add depth and experience to a Magicians blueline that has been hit hard by injuries of late.
