Magicians in 2nd Place as November Ends

Nov 28, 2016

The Minnesota Magicians sit comfortably in 2nd place in the Midwest Division of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with a 15-8-2 record and 32 points in the standings. Despite picking up a win over Thanksgiving week, the Magicians are still four points behind 1st place Janesville after the Jets picked up two wins for themselves.

On Wednesday November 23rd, the Magicians traveled to Cloquet, Minnesota to face the Wilderness at Northwoods Credit Union Arena. After surrendering the first goal of the game, the Magicians took over to earn a convincing 6-2 victory on the road. Six different Magicians skaters scored goals in the game, and forwards Timo Walther, Tyler Bump, and Davis Kirkendall each registered 3 points apiece.

A few nights later on Saturday November 26th, the Magicians hit the road again to face the Austin Bruins at Riverside Arena. St. Cloud native Will Hammer had two goals on the night, but the Magicians fell by a final score of 3-2 in a close contest.

The Magicians will kick off the month of December with a home & home series vs. the Coulee Region Chill, who currently occupy third place in the Midwest Division. On Friday December 2nd, the teams will face off at Green Island Ice Arena in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After that on Saturday December 3rd, the Magicians will return home to play in front of the home faithful for a 7:00 PM rematch with the Chill. Tickets are currently available at www.wisconsinjuniorhockey.com and walkup tickets will be available at Richfield Ice Arena on the night of the game.
