Jun 8, 2015

The Minnesota Magicians are excited to announce that they have signed goaltender Ryan Edquist to a tender agreement for the 2015-2016 season. The signing locks up Edquist’s rights in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) for the upcoming year.

Edquist, a native of Lakeville, Minnesota, is currently committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of Minnesota. Last season he won a Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) state championship with the Lakeville North Panthers, posting a 1.43 Goals Against Average (GAA) to go along with a .937 Save Percentage (SV%) while leading his team to an undefeated record. Prior to his stint at Lakeville North, Edquist spent two years at prestigious Shattuck St. Mary’s prep school while playing Bantam and U16 Midget hockey.

Of the signing, Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said, “We are beyond excited and proud to sign a player like Ryan to a tender for the coming season. Any time you can sign a player who is from the top high school hockey team and committed to a top college team in the state of Minnesota is a great thing. Ryan has tremendous ability and is a top notch young man. We are extremely happy to welcome him in to the Magicians family."

The 2015 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Draft takes place on Tuesday, June 9th at 1:00 PM Central Time. For all the latest news and information on Minnesota Magicians hockey, follow the team on Facebook and Twitter or visit www.wisconsinjuniorhockey.com
