Magicians Sign Gelatt to Tender Agreement for 2015-2016

Mar 1, 2015

The Minnesota Magicians are excited to announce that defenseman Tim Gelatt has signed a tender agreement with the team for the 2015-2016 season.  Gelatt, a native of Middletown New Jersey, has patrolled the blue line with the New Jersey Titans of the North American Hockey Prospects League (NAPHL) for the past three seasons. He captained the U16 Titans in 2012-2013, contributing 19 points in 22 games as a top defenseman for the team. Last season, Gelatt collected 13 points over the course of 24 games, which was good enough to earn himself a roster spot on Team North at the NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament.  Following a good showing at the Top Prospects Tournament, he was called up to the New Jersey Titans of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and appeared in 10 games.

Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said of Gelatt, “Tim is a hard-nosed defenseman who has the ability to rush the puck and see the ice well. He impressed us with his commitment in his own end and offensive ability. Magicians fans will have fun watching him play because of his tenacious work ethic on the ice."

This season with New Jersey, Gelatt has posted career highs with 20 points in 24 games played. Tim’s younger brother Mike also plays with the Titans, and recently signed a tender with the Soo Eagles of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).  Players will begin reporting for 2015/16 at the Magicians’ Pre-Draft Camp at Richfield Ice Arena from May 22-24th, and the team’s Main Camp is scheduled to be held from July 24th-28th at Richfield Ice Arena.
