MAGICIANS SWEEP BLIZZARD

Feb 3, 2020

The Minnesota Magicians are off to a hot start in February as they completed the clean sweep of the St. Cloud Blizzard this past weekend.  The Magi headed up to St. Cloud for the first time this season on Friday night, posting a 3-2 victory with scoring from Hale (5), McCabe (6), and Christy (10).  Skinner held down the fort for the Magi on the defensive end with 17 saves on 19 shots.

The boys had some momentum going into Saturday night’s puck drop at the Richfield ice Arena as they knew they needed 2 points against the Blizzard with the Midwest Division playoff race as close as it is. Christy and McCabe each buried goals in the first to give the Magi a 2-1 lead heading into the second.  Christy went on to score another goal in the second, followed by goals from Sagissor and Konin in the third, as the Magicians sealed the 5-3 victory and weekend sweep over the Blizzard.  Skinner stood tall again in net with 24 saves on 27 shots.

The Magicians will look to continue their success in February this upcoming weekend as they face off in a 3 game series against the Chippewa Steel starting Thursday, February 6th!
