Magicians Tender Riggleman and Crawford for 2015-2016

The Minnesota Magicians are excited to announce the signing of two players to tender agreements for the 2015-2016 season, Matt Riggleman (Right) and Pierce Crawford (Left).

A tender is a contract, of sorts, that a player signs announcing his intention to play for a certain team.  Once a player signs a tender with a team in the NAHL, his playing rights belong to that team and thus, no other team in the NAHL may recruit him.  Each NAHL team is granted 10 tenders per season, plus or minus any acquired or lost via trade.  Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.

Matt Riggleman hails from Michigan and is currently playing for Midget Major program Honeybaked of the High Performance Hockey League (HPHL).  Of Riggleman, Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said, “We are very excited to sign Matt to a tender. He is a great young man who plays the game hard and contributes offensively. He comes from a very well-known midget program out of Detroit in Honeybaked and we know that he will be prepared to contribute and compete at the NAHL level when he arrives in Richfield next fall.”  In 17 games played this season with Honeybaked, Riggleman has 7 goals and 4 assists for a total of 11 points.

Pierce Crawford is from Park Ridge, Illinois but currently resides in Faribault, Minnesota where he is a member of the Shattuck St. Mary’s prep hockey team. Speaking about Crawford, Coach Upton said, “Pierce Crawford is a winner and a leader. How he conducts himself as a person off the ice and his ability on the ice makes us extremely proud and excited to sign him to a tender for next season. Coming from a great Minnesota hockey power like Shattuck will allow him to step in a have an enormous contribution to our team right away, not just on the ice but in the locker room and in our community as well.  Crawford currently has 8 goals and 7 assists for a total of 15 points 28 games with Shattuck this year.
