Magicians Weekend Preview: Springfield Jr. Blues

After a sweep over the Coulee Region Chill last weekend, the Magicians will try to stay hot as they welcome in another Midwest divisional opponent, the Springfield Jr. Blues come to town for a three-game series. The games kick off on Thursday at 7:05, continues Friday at 7:15, and ends on Saturday at 7:05 all at Richfield Ice Arena.

About the Blues:

The Blues are currently holding the third spot in the Midwest Division with 4-4-0-1 record. Last weekend, they were home against Kenai River and ended up splitting after two tightly tested battles.

The Blues’ top three scorers are; Jordan Muzzillo (2G-4A), Fabio Hollenstein (1G-4A), and Max Brainin (5A).

The Magicians will likely see Jurja Ovecka in net for the Blues, who is 4-2-0-1 with 2.20 GAA and .938 save percentage.

Who’s Hot for the Magic?

Defenseman, Matt Denman is coming off an incredible weekend in which he won the NAHL Midwest Division Player of the Week. He had 1 goal and 3 assists, plus a shootout game-winner. He is currently tied for the team lead in points.

Veteran forward, Brendan Skarda is picking up right where he left off last year. He leads the team in goals with four and is tied with Denman for the team lead in points
