Magicians Weekly – 11/4/2015

Nov 4, 2015

The Minnesota Magicians had a relatively light schedule last week with only one game over the weekend. On Friday October 30th, the Magicians faced their former Midwest Division opponent Coulee Region Chill, traveling to La Crosse, Wisconsin for a game at Green Island Ice Arena. The Chill came into the game with a 3-8-0 record, while the Magicians went into the game with a 4-8-1 mark.

In the first period, the Magicians were able to light the lamp first, with newcomer Kevin Dineen scoring a goal assisted by Jordan Fralich and Johnny Panvica in what would be the period\’s only goal.

In the second, the Magicians expanded their lead to 2-0 over the Chill on a goal by Connor Bucsis that was assisted by Jack Christensen and Larry Jungwirth. Later in the period, the Chill were able to answer back with a powerplay goal with 5-minutes remaining, and the teams entered the third period with the scoreboard reading 2-1 in favor of the Magicians.

In the third, The Magicians once again took a two goal lead when Johnny Panvica scored a powerplay goal assisted by Casey Jerry and Connor Bucsis just over 2-minutes into the period. The Chill were able to answer back twice through the remainder of regulation, however, and the game went to overtime. Capitalizing on the momentum gained from their third period comeback, the Chill also scored in overtime to win the game and take the extra point away from the Magicians. Magicians goaltender Drew Hotte made 40 saves in the game while taking the loss.

The upcoming week will be busy once again for the Magicians, as the team hosts Austin on Thursday November 5th, travels to Brookings on November 6th, and then returns home on November 7th for a game vs. Brookings at Richfield Arena.

Thursday night is \”Youth Hockey Night\” at Richfield Ice Arena, and all kids who show up to the game in their hockey jerseys will receive $2 tickets!
