Minnesota Magicians Weekly – September 16, 2015

The Minnesota Magicians concluded their pre-season schedule over the weekend, compiling a 1-2 record in 3 exhibition games. The team's current roster features 15 new faces to go along with 8 returners from last season. Of those on the Magicians roster, 3 players will enter the season with Division I college commitments. Returning Defenseman Travis Brown is committed to Michigan Tech University, while incoming defenseman Nick McKeeby is committed to Western Michigan University, and incoming forward Eric Shaw is committed to Brown University. 

Next up for the Magicians will be the 2015 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Showcase, which begins in exactly one week at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. The showcase, which is the largest event conducted by the league each season, runs from September 23-26th and features all 22 NAHL teams. The Minnesota Magicians will play their first four regular season games of the season at the Showcase, beginning on Wednesday, September 23rd at 10:30 AM vs. the Kenai River Brown Bears. Thursday September 24th – 7:30 PM vs. New Jersey Titans
Friday September 25th – 4:00 PM vs. Fairbanks Ice Dogs
Saturday September 26th – 3:30 Pm vs. Janesville Jets

Following the NAHL Showcase, the Minnesota Magicians will play their first home games on October 2nd and 3rd at Richfield Ice Arena vs. the Aberdeen Wings.  Last season, the Magicians went 6-2 in 8 games against the Wings.
