PROSPECT REPORT: Logan Nelson

Jun 25, 2015

Drafted by the Minnesota Magicians in the 5th Round (#102 Overall) in the 2015 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Draft, Logan Nelson is a forward who most recently played hockey in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL).  As a senior with the St. Michael-Albertville Knights last season, Nelson played in 26 games and collected a total 27 goals and 18 assists. His total of 44 points was tops on his team.

Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said of Nelson, "Logan is a big body forward who plays hard, skates well and can really shoot the puck. He showed that he can score and put up good offensive numbers in high school hockey and we expect him to do the same at the junior level. It's always nice to have a player from close to your home arena drafted and have the opportunity to play on your team and we are excited to see Logan compete at our level."

Nelson will compete with other potential new additions to the Magicians roster in addition to players returning next year at the Magicians' Main Camp in late July at Richfield Arena. The North American Hockey League Showcase will commence less than 2 months later, kicking off the 2015-2016 NAHL season at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.
