The Wisconsin Windigo hit the road for the first time in the 2025-26 regular season as they are set to travel to Blaine, MN for the 22nd Annual NAHL Showcase. The NAHL Showcase takes place at the Super Rink, a one-of-a-kind venue with eight sheets of ice under one roof. The showcase will provide Windigo players with the opportunity to display their skills in front of 300+ professional, collegiate, and junior scouts.
Across the four-day event, the Windigo are slated to play three games, with the first of the three scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 PM Central Time against the Aberdeen Wings. Then, the Windigo will lace up against the Corpus Christi IceRays on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 3:00 PM Central Time before concluding their time at the showcase with a 9:00 AM matchup with the Johnstown Tomahawks on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The Windigo enter the NAHL Showcase with a 2-1-1 record and currently rank second in the Midwest Division standings. In the team’s last series, they split a two-game set with the Kenai River Brown Bears. Wisconsin handily won the first game 5-1 before falling to Kenai River 3-2 in a shootout loss.
Second-year defenseman Declan Burns currently leads the team in points with four and was recently named the NAHL Midwest Division Star of the Week. Windigo goaltender Easton Cody was named the NAHL Midwest Division Third Star of the Week after posting a 33-save effort in Saturday’s win.
The Aberdeen Wings head into Wednesday’s matchup atop the Central Division standings after a two-win weekend over the Watertown Shamrocks. In the series, Aberdeen posted a +8 goal differential after scoring 12 times. They currently rank fifth in the NAHL’s power rankings.
The Corpus Christi IceRays enter the NAHL Showcase red-hot, as they are the only unbeaten team in the South Division at 2-0-0. In their opening series, they took down the Lone Star Brahmas, the reigning champions of the South Division, 5-4 & 4-2 on Friday, Sept. 19 and Saturday, Sept. 20 respectively. They currently sit one spot shy of first place in the NAHL Power Rankings.
The Johnstown Tomahawks head into the NAHL Showcase with a 3-1-0 record and are currently second in the East Division standings. In the four games they’ve played, their lone loss was in their second game of the season against the Danbury Hat Tricks. As of now, Johnstown ranks ninth in the NAHL Power Rankings.
