Week Preview: Thanksgiving Week Stuffed with Games

Three games this week for the Magicians. It starts on Wednesday night as the Magicians travel to Cloquet to take on the Minnesota Wilderness. The three-game week continues with two games at home on Saturday and Sunday against the Springfield Jr. Blues. The Magicians are currently sitting in second place in the Midwest Division with a record of 12-7-1-1.

About the Wilderness:

The Wilderness has a record 7-10-2-1. Last weekend the Wilderness played a home and home series against the Austin Bruins and feel in both contests 4-2 and 5-3.

Wilderness To Watch:

Defenseman Eric Gotz – Gotz has 16 points this season, which leads all defenseman for the Wilderness. Gotz is a Hermantown native and recently made a commitment to play college hockey at Miami-Ohio University.

Forward Luke Dow – Dow has 15 points on the year for the Wilderness, including eight power-play points, which is tied for the team lead.

About the Blues:

The Springfield Jr. Blues have a record of 10-8-1-1 and sit just four points behind the Magicians in the Midwest Division. The Blues are coming off a weekend at home where the split with the Coulee Region Chill.

Blues to Watch:

Defenseman Jordan Muzzillo – Muzzillo like to create offense from the backend for the Blues. He leads the team with 16 points and 11 assists.

Forward Nikita Kozyrev – Former Magician, Kozyrev from Tallinn, Estonia lead the Blues in goals with seven. Last year for the Magicians, he had 22 points in 49 games.

Who’s Hot for the Magic?

Jarrett Lee – Jarrett Lee had three points for the Magic last weekend, including the game-winning goal on Friday night. Lee now has 16 points on the year and eight points in his last eight games.

Isaiah Saville – Saville stays hot. It seems like I mention Saville in this section every week but once again he played great last weekend. Stopping 44 of 46 shots and picking up the win for the Magic on Friday against Aberdeen.

Ethan DeStefani – Currently on a three-game point streak, DeStefani has been finding the back of the net for the Magi. He has seven goals on the year, which is second best on the team.
