Weekend Preview: Finally Home

The Magicians will play their final road game of an 8-game road trip Thursday night against the Coulee Region before finally returning home for two games against the Minnesota Wilderness. It has been an extremely long road trip for the Magic but they have battled all the way through and have a record of 5-2-0 on it. The Magicians are excited to get back in front of their home crowd and put on a show for them. We haven’t seen the Magic at Richfield Ice Arena since October 14th. Almost a month and the guys couldn’t be happier to get back home.

About the Chill:

The Chill is currently on a 3-game winning streak and have a record of 4-7-1-1. Last time out the Magicians swept the Chill with a 4-3 Shootout win and a 4-2 victory both at Richfield Ice Arena.

Chill To Watch:

Defenseman Brandon Koch – The Chill bring offense from the blueline as Koch leads the team with 14 points (1G 13A). Koch is from Hastings, MN and played for Shattuck St. Mary’s. He is also an Air Force commit.

Forward Billy Duma – Billy Duma is also an Air Force commit and has 9 points (5G 4A) for the Chill this season. Duma is a former Wayzata Trojan and was captain of the team in 2015-16 which won the state title.

About the Wilderness:

The Minnesota Wilderness are an opponent that the Magicians have not yet seen this season. The Wilderness have a record of 6-7-2-1 and currently sit tied for 4th in the Central Division.

Wilderness to Watch:

Forward Kosta Likourezos – The Canadian Likourezos leads the Wilderness in points with 15 (6G 9A). He’s a threat on their power play and already has 4 power play goals this season.

Defenseman Eric Gotz – The former Hermantown Hawk, already has 15 points (3G 12A) this year which surpasses his total from last season where he played 57 games for the Wilderness.

Who’s Hot for the Magic?

Isaiah Saville – Last weekend Saville was dominant against the Janesville Jets. He stopped 74 of 77 shots faced. He holds a .911 save percentage and 2.70 goals against average.

Davis Kirkendall – Kirkendall has scored 3 goals in the three games and has already matched his goal-scoring total from last season.

Matt Denman – Denman was honored as the NAHL Defenseman of the Month last week and leads the Magicians in points with 15 (1G 14A).
