Weekend Preview: Home-and-Home Against The Chill

The Magicians will travel to Wisconsin on Thursday night to take on the Coulee Region Chill for the fourth time this season. Thus far, the Magi are 3-0 facing the Chill. The Magicians will then return home to Richfield Ice Arena on Saturday to finish the two-game series. The Magic are trying to bounce back after getting swept by the Springfield Jr. Blues last weekend. The Magicians’ offense has struggled the last few games, only scoring four goals in the last four games. Currently, the Magicians set in 4th place in the Midwest Division, with a record of 12-10-2.

About the Chill:

Like the Magicians, the Chill are coming off being swept last weekend by the Austin Bruins, losing both games by a combined scored of 6-1. The Chill are 5th in the Midwest Division with a record of 6-9-6.

Chill To Watch:

Forward Nick Bowman – Bowman leads the Chill in points with 17 (8G 9A). Bowman is from Shelby Township, MI and in his final year of junior hockey before heading on to Miami (Ohio) University.

Goaltender Emil Zetterquist – The Stockholm, SWE native has been a bright spot for the Chill this season. Zetterquist is 4-2-0-1 with 2.27 GAA and a .941 SV%. With his strong play, Zetterquist has committed to play is college hockey at St. Lawrence University earlier this season.

Who’s Hot for the Magic?

Matt Denman – Denman picked up another two points last weekend and continues to lead the team with 20 points (2G 18A) in 24 games.

Arturas Laukaitis – Last Saturday, Laukaitis picked up two points against the Springfield Jr. Blues. He is putting together a strong rookie campaign for the Magicians, leading the team at +7 and has seven points (3G 4A) in 15 games played.

Jarrett Lee – He picked another goal last weekend leads the team 8 goals on the year.

Dec. 8th Toys for Tots: Brings to toys to donate to the Toys for Tots Foundation

Dec. 9th Star Wars Night: Dress up with all your Star Wars gear. Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, and Jedis, we want to see it all. The Magicians will be wearing special Star Wars themed jerseys that will be auction off at the end of the night.

Dec. 15th Date Night: Time to bring your special some to Magicians game.

Dec. 16th Teddy Bear Toss: One of the best nights of the year all, we encourage our fans to bring as many teddy bears/stuff animals they can to throw onto the ice after the Magicians score their first goal. Teddy bears will then be collected and donated to the Minnesota Children’s Hospitals and Clinics! #TeddyMagic
