The Wisconsin Windigo look to continue their strong run of play when they travel to Janesville for a battle with the Jets Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7:05 PM CST. While most series in the NAHL are two-game sets over a single weekend, both teams will only play just once this weekend following their mid-week faceoff last Wednesday, Nov. 26.

In the last meeting between the two squads, the Windigo came out on top by a score of 6-4, which helped them take a 4-3 lead in the season series. In the pre-Thanksgiving showdown, the Windigo received offensive contributions across the board, with nine different players registering an assist. Wisconsin received three goals in the final period, including two empty-net tallies, to win the game by two scores.

In the team’s last game, the Windigo extended their win streak to four games with a 4-2 win over the Chippewa Steel Friday, Nov. 28. After a back-and-forth first 58 minutes, Windigo forward Teddy Richardson scored his third and fourth goals of the game to help lift the team over the finish line and lay claim to the best record in the NAHL Midwest Division. Windigo winger Brendan Finley and blueliner Devin Berg both had two assists on the late-game tallies.

In Janesville’s last series, the Jets were swept by the Springfield Jr. Blues. Both games were decided by one goal, with the Jets losing 5-4 Friday, Nov. 28, before losing the next night 4-3. Springfield notched both of their game-winning goals with three minutes or less remaining in regulation.

Offensively, the Windigo made November their best month of the season, as they averaged 4.22 goals per game across the nine times they took the ice. The team scored 38 goals in that span and their ability to outscore their opponent led the team to a 7-2-0 record in November.

Headed into Saturday’s game, the Windigo have won 11 of their last 13 outings, which has brought their record to 15-9-1 overall. Wisconsin currently leads the league’s Midwest Division, while Janesville has fallen to fifth place in the standings at 12-12-1.

With the win last Wednesday, the Windigo took a 4-3 lead in the season series. Since the Windigo joined the Midwest Division in the 2022-23 season, they have won 27 of the 38 meetings between the two teams.
