Fresh off a pair of wins, the Wisconsin Windigo are set for a three-game week across the Midwest Division. The Windigo will first travel to their I-94 rivals, the Janesville Jets, for one game Wednesday, Nov. 26. Puck Drop in Wednesday’s contest is set for 7:05 PM Central Time.
After Turkey Day, the Windigo will return home to the Ponds of Brookfield for two games with the Chippewa Steel Friday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Nov. 29. Both games will have a puck drop at 7:35 PM Central Time. The series will be the first of the 2025-26 season between the two in-state rivals.
In the team’s previous series, the Windigo swept the Kenai River Brown Bears to wrap up a three-win trip to Alaska. Wisconsin won the first game 6-3 before going to overtime and taking the close victory 5-4. Across the two-game set, team captain Alexios Georgaklis led the team with three goals, and center Josh Sardo scored the game-winning tally in Saturday’s overtime thriller.
For the Windigo’s pair of opponents this week, both have had mixed results. The Jets split their most recent series with the Minnesota Wilderness, winning on Friday, Nov. 21 by a score of 5-2. The Steel were swept by the Springfield Jr. Blues in their most recent series, but Chippewa remains relatively hot with a sweep over the Jets two weeks back.
With the team’s recent success, the Windigo were ranked in the NAHL Power Rankings for the first time this season. Wisconsin has won nine games in their last 11 tries and currently rank ninth in the league’s power rankings, which is just two spots behind their Midwest Division rival, the Minnesota Wilderness.
Entering Wednesday’s game, the Windigo currently rank third with a 13-9-1 record in the NAHL Midwest Division Standings. Janesville enters Wednesday’s contest in fifth place with a 12-10-0 record. Chippewa currently ranks last out of the eight teams in the Midwest Division with a 4-15-2 record.
In the matchup history between the Windigo and their respective opponents, Wisconsin leads both series. The Windigo have an all-time record of 26-11 against the Jets, and a record of 22-10 when matched up with Chippewa.
Tickets for each game can be purchased from the team’s website and can also be accessed using this link. If you can’t be there in person, all Windigo home and away games can be streamed on NATV. Visit nahltv.com for more details.
