This upcoming weekend, the Wisconsin Windigo welcome the Anchorage Wolverines to the Ponds of Brookfield for the first time this season. The two teams will kick off the two-game slate starting Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:35 PM CST. There will be an off day before the series wraps up Sunday, Dec. 14 at 7:15 PM CST.
Last month, the two sides faced off for the first time since the 2024-25 postseason. In the road series, the Windigo won the first meeting 5-4 in a battle that required a shootout to be decided. Wisconsin winger Will Doherty netted two goals in regulation before second-year forward Jackson Ernst tallied the winning tally in the shootout. Anchorage took the second game of the series 4-1.
In the 2024-25 NAHL Postseason, the Windigo and Wolverines played in a five-game series that was decided by one goal. Leading up to the deciding match, current Windigo forwards Teddy Richardson and Ronnie Hill made major contributions. Richardson sparked the team’s offense with the opening goal in a 4-2 win in the third game, and Hill scored a hat trick during a 5-2 win in the first game of the series.
Headed into Friday’s game, the Windigo have won each of their last five games and 12 of their last 14 overall. They currently sit in second place in the Midwest Division standings with a 16-9-1 record and have won the same number of games as the division-leading Minnesota Wilderness. Anchorage is currently in sixth place with an 11-10-3 record.
Leading the way for the Windigo offensively is Richardson, who has 31 points through 23 games this season. In the team’s last game, center Alexios Georgaklis tallied four points, bringing his season total up to 25 points. In goal, Easton Cody leads the team with a 7-5-0 record, a 3.32 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 12 games this season. He has won his last five consecutive starts.
